Freight Calculators
Work out how much space your cargo takes and what it will be charged on, whether it travels by sea, air or road.
Calculators
- CBM Calculator Enter each carton size and quantity to get the total cubic metres (CBM) of your shipment, with cubic feet, litres, gross weight and density.
- Dimensional Weight Calculator Compare the actual weight of your parcels with their dimensional weight. Choose a divisor preset or enter the divisor your carrier uses.
- Air Freight Chargeable Weight Calculator Enter your air cargo pieces to compare gross weight with volumetric weight. The greater of the two is the chargeable weight.
- Freight Density Calculator Find how dense your cargo is, from total weight and volume or from individual carton sizes and weights.
- LCL Freight Calculator Estimate the cost of a less-than-container-load (LCL) shipment from the rate you have been quoted, charged on weight or measure (W/M).
- LCL vs FCL Calculator Enter your shipment volume and the quotes you have received to compare LCL with full container options.
- Loading Meter Calculator Work out how many loading metres (LDM) your cargo takes up on a trailer, based on its footprint, quantity and how it stacks.
Planning a whole shipment?
The Shipment Planner runs volume, pallet, container, freight and landed-cost steps on the same cargo list, so you enter your cartons once.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between CBM and chargeable weight?
CBM is the volume of the cargo in cubic metres. Chargeable weight is the weight a carrier bills on: the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight worked out from the volume.
Which divisor should I use for volumetric weight?
Use the divisor stated by your carrier or forwarder. 6000 cm³ per kg is a common air freight planning value and 5000 cm³ per kg is common for courier services, but conventions vary, so the divisor is always editable.
