About
Shipping and freight calculators that show their workings, and a Shipment Planner that connects them.
Why FitMyCargo exists
Planning a shipment usually means jumping between separate tools: one for CBM, another for chargeable weight, a spreadsheet for pallets and a guess for how many cartons fit in a container. Each tool asks for the same cargo again, and few explain how they reached their answer.
FitMyCargo brings those calculations together. The standalone calculators answer single questions quickly. The Shipment Planner takes one cargo list from cartons to pallets, containers, freight options and landed cost per unit.
How results are calculated
- Workings are shown. Every calculator shows its formula, the values it used and the steps in between.
- Assumptions are editable. Divisors, W/M ratios, container and pallet sizes, payloads, trailer widths, rates, and duty and tax percentages are inputs, not hidden constants.
- Packing is done by placement, not division. Pallet and container plans come from a packing engine that places each carton at real coordinates and checks rotation, stacking, fragile, load-bearing, support and payload rules.
- Calculations run on the server with consistent unit conversion and explicit rounding, so the same inputs always give the same result.
What the tools do not do
- They do not provide live freight rates. Cost tools use the quotes and rates you enter.
- They do not provide customs advice or look up duty rates.
- Load plans are optimized planning layouts, not certified cargo-loading or safety plans.
- Container and pallet specifications are planning references; real equipment varies by carrier and manufacturer.
Free to use
All calculators and the Shipment Planner work without an account. A free account adds a workspace to save products, shipments, pallet and load plans and freight quotes. See the privacy policy for what is stored.
